Chicago Bears trade the Wide Receiver to Pittsburgh for a Second-Round Pick

A day after finally moving into the win column, the Chicago Bears have acquired wide receiver Chase Claypool from the Pittsburgh Steelers for a second-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Claypool has 18 catches for 318 yards and two touchdowns in 10 career games this season.

The Bears were in desperate need of a wide receiver after trading away Darnell Mooney to the New England Patriots earlier this season. Claypool is a big target with a lot of potential, but he has struggled to produce consistently in Pittsburgh. He has only one 100-yard receiving game in his career.

The Bears are hoping that a change of scenery will help Claypool reach his potential. He will be the team's No. 1 wide receiver and will be expected to make a significant contribution to the offense.
